About Somkenechi I. Ajene, DO
Somkenechi Ajene, DO, is a board certified general surgeon. She is a full-scope surgeon, but has a particular interest in hernia repair, wound care, anorectal diseases, gastrointestinal surgery, endoscopic procedures, and removal of skin and soft tissue masses.
Dr. Ajene earned her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. She then received a Master of Science degree in anatomical science from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. Following graduate school, Dr. Ajene completed her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the same university. She completed a general surgery residency program at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
Dr. Ajene has been in clinical practice for over 5 years. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband and active toddler. Dr. Ajene can also be found traveling, trying new recipes, and watching movies.
