About Sam Hankins, MD
North Carolina native, Sam Hankins, MD, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and attended medical school at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Following graduation, Dr. Hankins completed his residency in internal medicine - pediatrics at the University of Texas - Southwestern.
Within his practice, Dr. Hankins likes to focus on healthy lifestyle habits and nutrition as a form of prevention for a wide variety of chronic, preventable illnesses. He also helps patients address issues such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, asthma, tobacco use, depression, as well as pediatric care and same day sick visits.
Outside of work, Dr. Hankins enjoys listening to music, traveling, cooking, gardening, watching sports, staying active by playing basketball and softball, running, yoga, and going to the gym. He especially enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their dog, Jones.
