About Cristina V. Cueto, MD
Cristina Cueto, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with Methodist Surgical Specialists – Charlton. She specializes in hernia repair and surgical treatment for gallbladder, small bowel, and colon disease. She began practicing with Methodist in 2025.
Dr. Cueto is well-versed in traditional and minimally invasive surgical techniques, including the da Vinci robotic surgical systems. Minimally invasive and robotic surgery allows surgeons greater precision and uses smaller cuts, meaning less pain and shorter recovery for patients. She has been in surgical practice since 2012, with experience in trauma surgery and routine and complex general surgery. She speaks fluent Spanish.
Dr. Cueto brings a compassionate, patient-centered approach to her practice. She focuses on providing the same empathy and care that she would expect for herself and her loved ones. She grew up fascinated by science and medicine. Though none of her family members worked in medicine, she credits her family’s perseverance, resilience, and faith for inspiring her career.
The artistry of surgery is what Dr. Cueto loves most about her chosen field. She also plays violin, though she hasn’t had as much time for it as she once did. Nevertheless, she finds a connection between music and medicine, performing surgery with the same finesse and precision that she plays the violin.
Dr. Cueto travels frequently with her husband, enjoying international journeys and day trips from her home in equal measure. She also enjoys spending free time cooking and entertaining family and friends at home.
