About Charles R. Downey, MD
Charles R. Downey, MD, is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He practices complete OB/GYN care for women of all ages and has a particular interest in vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Dr. Downey is certified to perform minimally invasive and robotic surgeries.
Dr. Downey earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX where he graduated with honors. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center. Dr. Downey completed his OBGYN residency San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium.
Dr. Downey served ten years in the United States Army before being honorably discharged in 2004.
Outside of work, you can find Dr. Downey spending time with his wife and three children. He likes being outdoors, and enjoys camping, hiking, and cycling.
