Ivan Cruz, Jr., MD, is a board-certified general surgeon who has been serving patients since 2014. Dr. Cruz graduated from Cornell University, and earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Following graduation, Dr. Cruz completed his residency in general surgery at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Cruz has a special interest in treating colon cancer. He also enjoys treating a wide variety of surgical diseases, such as gallbladder issues, acute appendicitis, umbilical
hernias, inguinal hernias, and hernias of the abdominal wall, and complications of peptic ulcer disease. He performs screening colonoscopies and upper GI endoscopies, as well as cyst and lipoma removals.
Outside of work, Dr. Cruz enjoys Brazilian jiujitsu, lifting weights, playing chess, and mastering computer games.
