About Akash Ghai, MD
Akash Ghai, MD, MBA, is an experienced non-invasive general cardiologist who has been serving patients since 2006. Dr. Ghai completed his bachelor’s degree from McMaster University in Ontario, and earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto in Ontario. Following graduation, Dr. Ghai completed his residency in internal medicine from the University of Toronto, and later pursued extensive training in cardiovascular disease through his fellowship at Columbia University in New York. In addition to completing his medical training, Dr. Ghai later went back to graduate school to also earn a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of Echocardiography, Dr. Ghai is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) and is on the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. In addition to specializing in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Ghai also has clinical interests in managing lipids, cholesterol, and advanced heart failure, as well as preventative cardiology, Cardiac and Vascular CT Angiography, PET and SPECT Nuclear Perfusion Imaging, Peripheral Arterial and Venous Ultrasound , 3D Echocardiography, Transesophageal and Transthoracic Echocardiographylipidology, and monitoring calcium scores.
In addition to his clinical pursuits, Dr. Ghai enjoys running, tennis, live music, trying new types of craft beer, and spending time with his wife and two precious daughters.
